Driver report system

Driver report system

To keep the racing clean, WSS has built-in incident reporting system that is used in most race events. We ask all drivers who experience unfair racing acts, intentional crashing, cheating or anything against WSS racing rules - to report harmful users. Event organizers receive these reports and are responsible for penalizing these drivers in their events.

Note that we as World Sim Series only review and process reports sent to events organized by us. Every organizer is responsible for reviewing and judging reports sent in their events.

How to report

  1. Configure. First you need to configure the simulation game to record and save replays, so you have proof for driver reports.
  2. Record. If you encounter a situation and need to report another driver, you will need to create a video proof of incident using the recorded replays.
  3. Send report. Send driver report in WSS with attached video.
  4. Review & action & feedback. Event organizer is notified about driver reports and may take several days to review. Driver report can result in 'no action' or any penalty supported by the game. Organizer in most cases will also send feedback to report sender about the outcome.

1. Configure

Assetto Corsa - replay autosave

This is a built-in feature that saves replay automatically once session (race, qualify, practice) ends or you disconnect. Note that by default only N of the last sessions are saved and older replays are deleted to save space. We recommend these settings to have long enough replays:

Using Content Manager go to 'Settings' > 'Assetto Corsa' > 'Miscellaneous' and set settings like this:

  • Replays autosave: Autosave replay: Checked
  • Replays: Quality: 'Medium'
  • Maximum size: Maximum / 2000 MB
  • Limit for races: 4

These are suggested values, if you have enough space you can increase values to have more of your last races saved.

Assetto Corsa - instant replay using Custom Shaders Patch

This is a cool new feature when using Assetto Corsa with Custom shaders patch. By default you can click CTRL + SHIFT + S to save replay of last 30 seconds - replay is saved to My Documents\Assetto Corsa\replay\clips and message on top of the screen is shown. You can also bind another key here:

We would also recommend to extend clip duration to 60 seconds here:

Assetto Corsa Competizione - replay autosave

In the menu go to Options > Gameplay > General and change these settings: (recommended as

2. Record

To speed up report review process we ask drivers to send reports with video material that can be easily viewed without race steward having to launch the game. For this you need to open replay clip inside the game and record with any screen recording software.

General guidelines for recording clips for reports:

  • Make sure there is at least ~10 seconds of footage or more before the incident, so race steward hasenough context for .
  • Record with outside camera, so all cars involved in incident are visible
  • Record with cockpit camera from all involved cars (steering wheel, pedals app should be visible)
How to record (using Windows Game Bar)

This should be the easiest way without extra installations for most people. Windows 10/11 has built-in feature called "Xbox Game Bar" that allows you to record game clips without installing anything extra. To open it click Windows key + G it will look like this (close with Escape key):

If it does not work on Windows 10, try going to Windows Start menu > Settings > Search 'Game Bar' > Game bar shortcuts and ensure it is enabled:

3. Send report

Race events will have 'Report driver' button in results page. By default it is available from event start to 24 hours after event ended.

All reports are received by the organizer of the event, who can then review and issue penalties to the drivers in the race.

If visible always check 'Rules' page of the event regarding event specific rules:

4. Review & action & feedback.

Event organizer is notified about driver reports and may take several days to review. Driver report can result in 'no action' or any penalty supported by the game, for example total time penalty, drive-through, stop-n-go, disqualification, warning. Exact penalties will be visible in race results.

Organizer in most cases will also send feedback to report about the outcome.
