WSS app

World Sim Series Launcher app (WSS app) is a minimalistic application that connects your PC to WSS website and automates launching games, installing and verifying game content.

Why WSS app?

WSS app was created out of many issues due to the complexity of installing and synchronizing mods for drivers. Also every time you register to event it will verify if you have required content - reducing the chance that you will have problems when the event starts.

Can I use WSS without WSS app?

As an alternative, for Assetto Corsa events, you can use Content Manager: navigate to Online tab > World Sim Series. This will work for most events without WSS app.

For Assetto Corsa Competizione WSS app is currently required to register in events and to reserve slot to your Steam account.

Troubleshooting

If you see these messages, that means WSS page cannot connect to WSS app on your computer, in that case try these solutions:

First, make sure WSS app is installed on your computer and shows 'Ready':
Make sure you are using browser to access WSS (Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Edge, ...).
Pause or disable Ad-block for WSS page. In Brave browser you need to disable 'Shields' for WSS
Check antivirus/firewall programs and make sure they are not blocking WSS app
Try using Chrome browser - it works most of the time.

Could not reach update server

If you see "Could not reach update server" error, it might be that your antivirus application is blocking it. Although we have a valid security certificate, some antivirus applications might still have an issue. If this is the case, you should try to unblock WSS app in the antivirus blocked applications list or whitelist WSS app manually in the antivirus application. This process will vary based on the antivirus application you are using. We will not take any responsibility for this action, please use your common sense.

"Application not found" error

If you get this error after clicking "Connect" in WSS page and you are using Content Manager launch mode, it may be that Content Manager is not registered on the system, to fix this:

Open Content Manager > Settings > Content Manager > General
In the App section change "Windows Registry" to "Disabled" and then change back to "Full integration"
This should fix and "Connect" button should now launch Assetto Corsa
